Fried Chicken like grandma use to make recipe

So I’m on my way home and I had a craving for some fried chicken. It was a bad one to the point I find myself singing “what a Friend we have in Jesus” but instead I was saying “Oh how I want some fried chicken” I was in some deep worship when I realise I was singing to chicken and not Jesus!

I think I heard Jesus saying “Hey! you know you singing to chicken right?” LOL

I would have prefer wings, but I only had chicken breast. So here come Chicken fingers!
I didn’t have any batter so I improvise!
They were so yummy!

Recipe

What you need:

  • Chicken breast or chicken wing or whatever the chicken part you desire
  • Jiffy cornbread mix
  • all purpose flour
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Paprika
  • 1 egg

Preparation

  •  Rinse up your chicken
  • Mix some of the jiffy cornbread mix with the flour
  • Add up the spices
  • Dip chicken in egg
  • Coat with the cornbread and flour mix
  • Fried golden

When it’s all done

  • Eat like a cavemen!
  • ENJOY

PS: I also follow the same steps but instead of frying I baked them! they were still delicious!

  1. I haven't grill in forever, now I can smell the delicousness coming from the grill. next thing you know i'm going to be singing "oh how I want some grill chicken" LOL

  2. I love that song (without the chicken lyrics). 🙂 Thanks for sharing the recipe, my husband says nothing hits the spot sometimes like good old fried chicken.

  3. dipping them in egg before the batter made a world of difference! when I use loose floor you get residue in your oil, they end up burning and make a mess and chicken trun burning looking instead of golden

  4. I'm cracking up about you singing about chicken!!! LOL I don't fry anything…ever! I got popped in the face when I was about 3 and have issues to this day when people are using grease. I stay CLEAR away from the kitchen…hahaha! But this looks so good I might have to get me a fry daddy and some 1 foot things to drop them in and pick them up. LOL
